The small town of Bute on the York Peninsula in South Australia. First settled in 1884.
Not far from the towns of Kadina, Wallaroo and Port Broughton. Mainly an agricultural centre growing wheat, barley, sheep and cattle.
Plenty to see including Bute Bromeliads, Gunner Bill's Gallery & Museum, the Wild Life Park, crafts at the Old Post Office and lots more.
Bute Bromeliads has a over 1,500 different Bromeliads on display, and always has quite a few plants for sale. Well worth the stop.
The first of the photos are supplied by the Bute and Districts Historical Society, the rest are postcards readily available from me or at the Old Post Office or Bute Bromeliads.

I am always looking for old photos or postcards on the town of Bute or surrounding areas.
please contact me if you have any that you would like to sell (my collection) or i am happy to forward them on to the Historical Society on your behalf.
Historical Societies play a major role in preserving the history in local areas and with out them a lot of vital information, photos, newpaper clippings etc would be lost. Support your local historical society where possible
